Visit to Mount St. Primo

We only had half a day to explore before driving back to Milano and a visit to the (near top) of Mt. St. Primo was in order. I wouldn't mind living here. But I may recant that if I knew how many tourists make a stop here.

3 Villages in a Day

Verena, Menaggio, and then back to Belaggio to catch a beautiful sunset to end the day.

Bellagio in fine

We finally got to our hotel several hours later. We couldn't see too much from the drive in (and we got lost, likeyadoo). The drive reminded me of road to Roundstone but on a much larger scale. Belaggio sits on the end of a penninsula in the middle of Lake Como. The lake is shaped like an upside down "Y." We spent what seemed like FOREVER winding our way through the small towns/hamlets/villages. Once we arrived I was happy to find a pizzaria in the basment of our hotel. I just ordered something off of the menu. I was quite suprised when those prawns were staring back at me. I ate 'em anyways. And they were yummy.

L'ultimo giorno della scuola per me. A Bellagio

I AM FINISHED! Now it's off to Bellagio. It's about an hour or so north of Milano. We're headed towards the mountains for a relaxing weekend. Milano was really not impressive to me, though I'm not a keen shopper either. A fine Italian suit doesn't seem to fit my personality or my budget.

Un giorno della settimana tipico, pt2

Besides the classroom and the hotel, this is where I've spent most of my time here. This coffee machine makes better coffee than anywhere in the States. Why? why? WHY?

The bathroom here is weird. There is also a sink that accompanies each toilet and I can't figure that one out either.

Un giorno della settimana tipico

I survived the first part of the week. It is all downhill from here. Jet lag was pretty bad on Tuesday. I've never really had such a problem when traveling overseas. I think it was the extra stress and pressure of having so many expectations. I've never taught a course before so I think this would have been stressful without the jet lag. But it's looking good. "Bene, multo bene."

Insonnia

First picture from Milan. I call it "Hotel Room."
sigh. I hope they get better than this...
